May the 4th Be with You, Gamers!
Happy (almost) Star Wars day! There's a lot of fun Star Wars-themed events happening within games this year, let's check out what's in store for the occasion!
Fortnite
The Fortnite Star Wars 2024 event kicks off today to celebrate May 4th with a collaboration to remember! Players can expect to see the event span all across Fortnite as it takes over the Lego, Festival, and Rocket Racing modes! There will be a new island on Lego Fortnite that is staying on past this v29.40 update for you to join in the battle as The Galactic Empire pursues the band of Rebels and crash-lands into the world of Fortnite. Macrobinoculars can be found at the crash site, leading you to the Rebel Village that needs your help to become the Rebel-Headquarters. You’ll aid in leveling this village up to level 10 by completing objectives like supplying resources and constructing Rebel buildings. By doing so, you’ll also be able to unlock one of the most iconic weapons of all, the lightsaber! After The Empire gets word of your location, you’ll have to fight them off as they try to take your world from you! So be sure to get a lightsaber to defend yourself! Additional weapons will also be craftable with a new “Rebel Workbench” that you can unlock the recipes for by adding “Plastoid” to your inventory!
Those new weapons are:
- Bowcaster: Launches a quarrel that deals damage and then explodes in the area.
- DL-44: There's no substitution for a good blaster at your side.
- E-11: Standard-issue blaster for Imperial Stormtroopers.
- Thermal Detonator: The bounty hunter’s detonator of choice! This thrown explosive affect a wider area than Dynamite.
LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure is also coming to Fortnite. This Pass has unlockable in-game rewards like the "Tatooine Turret and Tanks Bundle," "Mos Eisley Blue Milk Bar Bundle," and more! Complete the Quests within the LOGO Pass to unlock “Studs”. The more Studs you collect, the further you’ll progress in the LEGO Pass! You’ll unlock in-game rewards from the free reward track and have the option to unlock in-game rewards from the purchasable Premium Reward Track as well. The Premium Reward Track will cost you 1,400 V-Bucks and has 11 more unlockable rewards on top of the rewards you can earn from the free track. If that wasn’t enticing enough, they’re throwing in an instant unlock of the Chewbacca Outfit as soon as you purchase the Premium Reward Track.
The update will also include revamping the Star Wars outfits that had not been added to LEGO Fortnite yet like Darth Vader, Krrsantan, Mandalorian, and many more!
Rocket League
The Star Wars celebration continues into Rocket League as well! Players will get to live out their podracing dreams as they unlock challenges based on the iconic sport from the Star Wars franchise. You’ll have access to the “Beskar Car Body” in the shop, and get to flex on all of your friends that you have the most durable car in the galaxy. Players will have the opportunity to unlock the “Energy Binders Trail”, “Anakin’s Podracer Decal”, and “Darth Maul Decal” by completing all the Star Wars challenges and sport a fully Star Wars rig! These challenges are available through May 20th, so you have a bit of time to earn everything but don’t slack, the Rebels need you!
Star Wars: Hunters
Star Wars: Hunters may not be releasing until June 4th, but players who pre-register will unlock extra goodies like the “Raise Your Fist” emote our best furry sidekick is displaying here!
Brawlhalla
Darth Sidious – Darth Maul – joins Brawlhalla as a Mythic Crossover in the Brawlhalla Star Wars celebration! He’s equipped with his own custom Signature FX, unique lock-in animation, a dedicated roster spot, and his iconic lightsaber that rocked the world of Star Wars upon its reveal. He joins the ranks of present beloved characters including Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader, and his nemesis Obi-Wan Kenobi. There will also be an R2-D2 Sidekick, 2 new Sith-themed Avatars, and 4 new Emoji Skins available for the event! Find all of these and more Star Wars items in Mallhalla by following the crossed lightsabers. Log in any time during the Event that runs through May 21st to receive the free “Sith Lord” Title reward, but don’t worry about losing access to the items, as all Star Wars-themed items will stay in Mallhalla after the event ends.
